Udupi; Oct 15: Addressing the press meet held on Oct 15, Tuesday at Patrika Bhavan, B.Bhujanga Shetty, president, Kandaya elake samsyegala parihara samiti (Revenue department’s problem resolving samiti) said in his address that as per the demands of people in the district after reserving 25% of the land, samiti is pressuring town development authorities to pass an immediate ordinance to give permission to Gram Panchayat to act from the town planning authorities limit.
Failing to respond or pass an order to the appeal made by the samiti within fifteen days, Samiti will stage a massive protest, he warned
He further alleged that present DC after taking over the charge of this district, when there are heaps of buildings, which he has approved to build many multistory buildings, complexes to construct illegally without reserving ,leaving even one cent of land, minimum setback, parking slots, park, buildings constructed on the roads, what is the logic, secrete behind the rule of constructing 40 ft wide road and after leaving 45% of the land, the remaining land either can be sold or construct building? Who are all behind these mafia? A thorough probe has to be conducted immediately in this regard. He has requested chief minister in his memorandum submitted.
He also said that concession on piece of land to be continued, GPS also to be given rebate. We don’t oppose 9/11 rule.
The memorandum has been submitted highlighting the problems faced by the people due to revenue departments problems in the meeting of concerned ministers and department secretaries.
In this connection, on 18.09.2013 department authorities have agreed about the rebate given in revenue law to coastal region in the meeting held at Vikasa Soudha.Now they have agreed to withdraw anti-people’s law and circulars.
He also said that we have already given befitting reply to DC, who has strongly demanded for an extension of the existing anti-people’s law.
Since there are more pieces of lands in the district, even a cent of land has got separate RTC. Developmental works in the district has been dwindled due to the formation of CRZ in the region.
The district, where it is dominated by undivided families (joint family) when land is divided or selling ,even after knowing the fact that when the revenue department implementing the law, rebate has already been given to coastal region prior to 1990,authorities cannot understand the problems faced by the people.
