Belthangady , Oct.11:A surveyor in Belthangady who demanded bribe to prepare the sketch of a land has been trapped by the Lokayukta on October 9, Thursday.
The surveyor identified as Puttur resident Eeregowda hails from Hassan. He had asked bribe from Puroshotham Gowda, Shishila for preparing blueprint of his 5 cents plot. Gowda had submitted the application through document writer Kutticha Mugera in return the surveyor had asked for bribe through Mugera. Thereafter the bribe money which was initially fixed to Rs.1,000 was brought down to Rs 3,000 then finally at Rs.2,000.
On this basis Mugera had complained to Lokayuktha Police at Mangalore. The Police who were observing the surveyor from the past three days finally was caught red handed on Thursday.
Gowda had then complained to the Lokayukta which eventually trapped the surveyor.
C Mohandas, Mangalore Lokayukta SP, Vittaldas Pai, DySP and others were part of the raiding team.
