Mangalore, Oct 10: Regarding to the silver jubilee celebration of Shanthi Prakashana, Mangalore, it conducting one month campaign ‘Literature for Peace’ in the state in the month of November, and a welcome committee has been formed for the silver jubilee celebrations, said senior litterateur and president of the committee Dr Yerya Laxminarayana Alva.
Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that the people should know each religion then only they can values of religion. The language and the explanation in the holy books of each religion may be different but the main theme of the book is same in every Holy Scripture he said.
The president of DK Kannada Sahitya Parishad and member of the committee Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said that the welcome committee had as members litterateur Dr Taltaje Vasanthakumar, folk writer Dr Vamana Nandavara, writer and journalist Prof B M Ichlangod, writer M B Abdurrahman, senior journalist Chidambara Baikampady, vice-president of Shanthi Prakashana K M Sharief, Global Konkani organisation president Eric Ozario and other like-minded personalities.
Seer Tontada Siddalinga Mahaswami of Tontadarya Mutt, Gadag, has been chosen as the honorary president of the Dakshina Kannada welcome committee for the silver jubilee celebrations, he said.
As part of the celebrations, Shanthi Prakashana, the publishing house, will conduct a mega book fair, exhibition, seminar, literary discourse, multi-lingual poetry meet and programmes for women and children from November 4 to 7 at Town Hall, Mangalore, he said.
The vice president of the committee K M Sharief, Folk litterateur Dr Vamana Nandavara, journalist Prof B M Ichlangod, writer M B Abdurrahman, and several others were present in the press meet.
