Karkala; Oct 08: Dr.Vinod.V.Thomas, MD, Manipal institute of technology has launched an inter-collegiate technical festival “Tech- Nidarshan-13“, a three days workshop.
After launching the workshop, Dr.Thomas said in his address that India is proficient in the field of technology and has contributed significantly for the development of the country. In the recent days, India has advanced in the field of science of technology, technologist must focus more on the production of technical items and thereby instead of importing most of the smallest particles from other countries, we can rely only on our domestic products, he said
He further said that technologists with their technical skills and talents have to try to solve the problems of society and should focus on converting today’s dreams into tomorrow’s reality. Besides by utilizing opportunities like this, they have to enhance their skills, he added.
Dr.Niranjan N.Chiplunkar, principal of the college has presided over the function and said in his speech that in the hunt of newness, the question of age should not creep in our way. In order to bring newness into action, dedication is needed.Neccessary arrangements will be made for the same in the institution very soon, he said.
In case, in the process of finding newness or research , if one finds failure, should not be discouraged and should be continued, definitely there will a success. As the proverb says “failure is the stepping stone for the success”. The knowledge that we acquired through research or in finding newness, should be utilized for the welfare of the society through the items we produced by putting into action. Therefore students must keep pondering about that, he added.
After presenting welcome dance choreographed by the students Sumana and Shringar, Convener Sudeep Narayan welcomed the gathering, Anooj Uchil proposed a vote of thanks. Convener Prof.Vishwanath has given more information about the Technidarshan, Suman Shivaram has introduced the guests to the audience.
