Bantwal, Oct 5: A woman and her young son who had gone missing two days ago were found dead in a pond near their house at Chandalike, Vittal here on Friday October 4.
Vittal police on Friday evening recovered bodies of a mother and her seven-year-old son floating in a pond at a plantation located beside Kurbala road. The plantation belongs to Gangadhar Gowda.
The deceased have been identified as Pushpa (31), and her son Sharath Kumar(7).
The two had been reported missing from their house since October 2. Her husband Janardhan had filed a complaint in this regard in Vittal police station.
On Friday evening, when Gangadhar Gowda was walking towards the plantation, he found the bodies floating in the water. He immediately informed the police.
A case has been registered in Vittal police station.
