Beary Language Day’ Celebration

Mangalore, Oct 4: Kendra Beary Sahitya Parishad (KBSP) organised ‘Beary language day’ celebrations at Town Hall in the city on Thursday, Oct.3.

In the inaugural speech, former Higher Education Minister B A Mohideen stressed on the importance of providing education to young girls from the Beary community.

Earlier in Islam the people do not bothered about the pursuing of education. But now the situation has changed. Now we can find more than thousands girls from the community with academic degrees. It shows the development of the Beary community,” he said.

He further said that only academic education is not enough to strengthen the Beary Community. It is possible only through the development of the Beary language and culture.

He blamed vote-bank politics for spoiling the communal harmony among Hindu and Muslim communities in the district.

B A Mohammed Haneef delivered a lecture of the significance and survival of Beary language.

Senior litterateur Chandrakala Nandavar and registrar of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy Umarabba also spoke on the occasion.

The honorary president of the Parishad M B Abdul Rahman presided over the function.

Vice-president of the Parishad Hameed Kandak, B A Mohammed Ali were present. General secretary Hussain Katipalla welcomed the gathering.
