Udupi: S.I.O stages protest against the implementation of ‘communal’ books in schools

Udupi;Oct 03 : The student Islamic organization of India (S.I.O) has organized a protest on Oct 03,Thursday,near Udupi clock tower bus stand opposing the implementation of the last year’s 5th and 8th standard social science and this year’s 6th and 9th standard books as it contain the in-humane and communalism points.

S.I.O has alleged that these books have been already been reached in the hands of students. These books by spoiling the health and filling communal venom, gap between rich and poor, superiority and inferiority feelings in the minds of young students, the future generation of India, the future of India may lead to a big disaster,they warned.

They further alleged that without the content that national curriculum frame works recommended like social justice, history of downtrodden or as directed by S.E.R.T union of various Kannada cultures and gift of history about the formation of Karnataka and without giving any explanation, these books are being working against all these social benefits.

In the newly formed state government, except the statement made by Kimmane Ratnakar, minister for primary and higher education that the books, which contain communal venom and which are threat to the society, will be withdrawn immediately but government has not put its head in this regard  yet and  no action has been taken  by the government in this connection.

Therefore S.I.O has urged the government to issue a circular to all the schools asking them, not to implement the teaching of these books and in the days to come, all the books should be re-published as per the requirement of national curriculum frame works.
