Mangalore, Oct 1: The Police arrested a youth on Tuesday October 1, for allegedly raping a minor girl for one year. Another person who accompanied him is escaped.
The accused are Vikesh and Praveen, both are 20 years old. The victim girl, studying in 8th standard in a school in the city.
It is said that being relatives, the two men used to rape the girl for over a year and threatened to kill if she revealed the incident to anyone.
Afraid by the treat the girl remained silent, but few days ago, when her mother noticed a change in her behavior. When she asked her, then only the incident came to light.
The girl along with the mother filed a complaint against Vikesh and Praveen in Mangalore rural police station. Among the two, police on Tuesday arrested Vikesh, while Praveen is escaped.
Police have begun a search for Praveen. Further investigations are on.
