Mangalore, Sep 26: To mark the World Heart Day, KMC held a press meet in the Hotel Abhiman Residency, Bunts Hostel here on September 26.
KMC organizing the World Heart Day Run for the 9th time by conducting various activities.on September 29.
Dr Narasimha Pai, Cardiologists of KMC Hospital briefed about the activities for World Heart Day celebrations. He also said that the inaugural ceremony of the World Heart Day will be held at 7.00 am at TMA Pai convention hall and the valedictory function will be held at KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle.
Unit Head KMC Hospital Dr Anand Venugopal said that the rally starts from TMA Pai convention hall and will proceed through PVS Circle – Bunts Hostel Circle and reach KMC Hospital, Ambedkar Circle.
In this run, participants will getmany prizes, namely for the Best Corporate Participation, Best Institution Participation, Best Placard, Best Slogan Shouting. Winners of the Drawing Competition that was conducted on Sep 21, at KMC Hospital, Attavar will be awarded at the valedictory programme.
Secretary, Karnataka State Cricket association Vijay Bharadwaj will be attending the programme and also Health and Family welfare minister U T Khader, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA J R Lobo, Chairman Alva’s Education Foundation Dr Mohan Alva, Executive Director Corporation Bank Amar Lal Daulathani, will be the guests of honour for the occasion
International athlete Shiny Abhraham and Sahana Kumari will be the torch-bearer for the World Heart Day Run 2013.
Medical Supereintendent KMC Attavar, Dr Madhusudhan Upadya appealed to the citizens of Mangalore to participate in the World Heart Run. S M Majumdhar, Vijay Joshi, Dean KMC Mangalore Dr M V Prabhu, HOD Dept of Cardiology Dr R L Kamath, Dr Jayakrishanan, Dr Padmanabh Kamath, Dr Sujeeth Suvarna and Dr Rajesh Bhat were also present.
