“Vartha Elake”
Udupi; Sept 22: In view of encouraging and motivating SC/ST journalism students ‘Vartha elake’has undertaken the laptop and digital camera distribution programme under “Parishishta Jaathi Vishesha Ghataka Yojane-2003-04 and Girijana Upa Yojane 2003-04”.
In the current academic year, students from SC/ST , who got admission for full – time degree and post graduate degree in journalism and communication and studying in first semester with minimum of 50% marks, are eligible to avail the facility under the said programme.
This facility of the programme is applicable to all universities of journalism and communication in the state and students of journalism as their specialized subject. This programme is not applicable to the students who are doing correspondence course and diploma course.
The students will be selected on merit basis. Digital camera for degree students and laptop for post-graduate students will be distributed.
The department has decided to accept the applications of the eligible students, with their full name, address, telephone number and marks list of the last attended class from the head of the university or from the principal of the government degree colleges. Applications are not accepted directly from the students as per the announcement made by the department.
