The Prime accused of CPI(M) worker’s murder surrenders before court

Kasargod, Sep 20: The accused of the murder of a CPM activist, Prajith alias Kuttappi surrendered himself before the Hosadurga Judicial First Class Magistrate’s Court on September 19, Thursday

Prajith is the resident of Uduma Aryadka. He is one of the three accused, had evade the police. He has been remanded to two weeks of judicial custody.

Prajith, a lorry driver is said to have stabbed the victim Balakrishnan when he was riding his scooter back home on September 16 night. Kasargod also observed a bundh on September 17 in protest against the murder.

Bekal police had registered a case against three people involved in the murder.  A protest was held in the district condemning the murder of Balakrishnan on September 17 alleging Congress party’s involvement in the murder.  Now that one of the accused is in police custody, the motive behind the murder will be known after questioning, said the police.
