Udupi: Former premier pays visit to Kollur Mookambika temple; offers special pooja

Udupi; Sept 17: Former prime minister and national JDS president H D Deve Gowda has paid a visit to Mookambika temple to seek the blessings of Goddess Mookambika and offered a special pooja.

Addressing the media personnel, he said that he could not visit the temple for two years owing to ill health. Now in view of strengthening the party, he has started travelling to meet party workers in different places. He has come to the temple to pray, offer special pooja and seek the God’s blesings.He is visiting the temple after two years.

Brushing aside the query of press reporters that whether strength of JDS has weakened in dakshina Kannada and udupi, district, he said that he does not want to talk about politics in the temple and added that sincere and active party workers will work unitedly to strengthen the party. The party has to be strengthened from the grass root level. Appropriate strategy will be adopted after discussing with party president and senior leaders, he added.
