Udupi: Surprise visit to Udupi district hospital by U T Khader, health minister

Udupi; September 01: U T Khader, minister for health and family welfare paid a surprise visit to udupi’s district hospital at Ajjara Kadu on September 01, Sunday and reviewed the functioning of the hospitals.

He has visited hospital’s medical store, pharmacy, 24 hour seva Kendra, emergency, casuality treatment division and examined the activities which are going on in respective departments. After coming out from there, he also visited in and out patient wards and enquired about well being of the patients.

Thereafter he had a conference with hospital doctors, staff, health and family welfare official Dr Ramachandra Baayari. Pramodh Madhwaraj, MLA was present on the occasion.

Speaking to the media reporters, he said in his address that after discussing with union transport minister Oscar Fernandez, Vinaya kumar Sorake, minister for urban development and district in charge and Pramodh Madhwaraj MLA, final decision about the up-gradation of Udupi district hospital with full facilities will be taken shortly, he said.

He also said that government will take suitable measure with regard to malnutrition in children and as soon as we gets information about the child suffering from malnutrition in any one of the villages in the district, women and child welfare authorities will visit such places and arrangement will be made for small children at home and bigger children will be get admitted in Anganwadi and provide nutritious food. Medical test will be conducted every month. In case, we observe no sign of improvement in child, such child will be taken to Bangalore malnutrition children’s rehabilitation centre and given  good treatment, he added.
