Karkala; August 30: It has been reported that in one of the lodgings in Karkala, a man has committed suicide by hanging himself to the fan.
As per the sources, deceased has been identified as Poornesh, aged around 35 years, a resident of Thinglukoppa In Theerthahalli taluk, has rented a room in city’s Suhag lodge on August 28, Wednesday and when he was enquired about the purpose of his visit to Karkala by one of lodging’s staff , he said that it for to visit sacred places.
Sources also said that though he has promised to vacate the room by Thursday noon, he has not come out of the room till evening. When the staff of the lodge did not get any response from him, they opened the door with their spare key, they found Poornesh committed suicide by tying himself to the fan.
According to the complaint lodged in Karkala city police station by one Shivananda Poojary, the man might have committed suicide out of depression , it said.
