Mangalore, August 21: Opposing the private bus owners’ stand towards increasing the price of travel, without gaining the permission from district administration, SFI and DYFI staged a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner Office to control the increasing rate in the buses.
Addressing the protestors Muneer Kaatipalla said that due to increasing rate in the private buses, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district passengers facing problem.’ Buses must work like nerves of the public and according the law they can increase prices for 15 percent. But bus owners increased the rate to 25 percent and they moved for day light robbery. Transport field must not be for commercial purpose, rather than they must treat with service motive. Hence, deputy Commissioner must call bus owners and public meet, he urged.
DYFI leader Dayananda Shetty, Mangalore SFI president Sharan, DYFI secretary Manoj Bajal and other members were present.
