Bantwal, Aug 17: The two unidentified forcibly tried to enter a house and attacked aged couple here at Kalladka at around 2 am on Saturday August 17.
The victims had been rushed to a private hospital in Mangalore after the incident took place and they are identified as Shivappa Salian (60) and his wife Pushpavati (55).
The police sources said that the miscreants were not succeeded steal any valuable things and the motive behind the attack is not yet confirmed.
A source says that the couple had recently shifted from a Gulf country and had purchased a commercial complex at Bantwal and they were also providing vehicles on rent.
SP Abhishek Goyal, ASP Shivakumar, circle inspector Anil S Kukarni, sub-inspector Shekar and fingerprint experts arrived at the spot.
A case has been registered in Bantwal police station.
