Literature means quest for truth: says Dr Anupama: Manjunathalatha bestowed with Dr Shantharam award

Kundapur; August 13:  Addressing the gathering in Dr Shantharam award ceremony held on August 13, Tuesday at Bhandarkar’s college premises, writer Dr H N Anupama has opined in her chief guest speech that literature means quest for truth and it has got the power to show the society about the maladies in the society.

Mysore Manjunathalatha has been felicitated and honored with state level Dr Shantharam award for his kathasankalana “Kathe”a small krithi.

Dr Anupama while talking about the award winning ‘Kathe” said that any Sahithi or writer writes after experiencing the pains of others in such a way that they themselves are experiencing that pain. That compassion, throbbing is very clear in Manjunathalatha’s writing, she added.

Manjunathalatha spoke on the occasion after receiving the award.

Dr H Shantharam,MD,Manipal academy of general education has presided over the function.Dr N P Narayana Shetty,principal,degree college M Gonda,Principal,Pre-degree college were present on the dais.

Koni Shivananda Karantha welcomed the gathering.Prof.Rekha V Bannadi, award giving samithi,co-ordinator had an introductory speech.Ranjith Shetty and Aruna S-assistant professors compered the programme.
