Shirva;August 11: After inaugurating the Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat,Shirva unit, held on August 10,Saturday at Shirva Shree Mahalasa Narayani temple’s auditorium Dr Mohan Alva,MD,Alva’s educational institute of college,Moodbidri said in his address that more and more ritualistic folk artist should come to our region from different parts of the country and abroad and thereby number of people who accepts arts ,literature, culture should increase.
Dr Alva also said that along with exchanging arts, cultural activities, main purpose of ‘Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat is to be integrated.
While addressing the gathering he said that in the “ Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat programme”,which will be held between December 19th to December 22nd at Moodbidri,there will be an expectation of participation of over 5 lac representatives from different parts of India and abroad and advised every to be participated in the grand event.
After inauguration Suresh Shetty, Gurme, business personality from Bellary lauded and commented the efforts of Dr Alva in promoting arts and culture through Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat and bestowed him with title of “Samskritika Santa”.
Rev Fr Staney Tauro, priest, Shirva Aarogya Maatha Devalaya, said in his presidential speech that there will not be any difference between caste, religion, creed and it has got the capacity to unite the people and added that due to the presence of electronic media in abundance interest towards arts, culture is dwindling to great extent.
On the occasion Dr Mohan Alva,MD Dr Alva’s institute of colleges and high schools,Moodbidri has been felicitated by Shirva Unit of Alva’s Vishwa Nudisisri Virasat.
Chief guests like Vedhamoorthy Kenja Sridhar Tantry,Hasanabba Sheik,President,Shirva Gram Panchayat,Krishna Shetty of Shree Krishna Palace,Mumbai,Prakash Shetty,President,Buntara Sangha,Prakash Palame,President,Billawa Sangha,Shree Raghurama Shenoy,Priest,Shree Mahalasa Narayani temple, Harish Acharya,President young men’s sports and cultural association,Thukra Panara,folk artist,Kulyuru Ramachandra Rao,well known yakshagana artist were present.
Santhosh Valadhur, poem writer has been congratulated and honored by Dr Alva. Norbert Machado, President, Shirva unit has welcomed the gathering. Guests have been honored by presenting a Shawl by Ravindra Shetty, Kollabettu, social worker, Pundalika Marate compered the programme.Smt Babitha Aras, president has proposed a vote of thanks.
Anantha Moodithaya, lecturer N Gopal and Sadashiv co-ordinated. Thereafter the students of Dr Alva’s educational institutions perfomed variety cultural dances from the different parts of the country and abroad.
