Mangalore, August 4: Now a day’s Tulu naadu culture and celebrations are disappearing, hence it must be preserved, said urban development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake.

He was speaking after inaugurating the ‘Aatida thammana bokka maanaadigeda les’, organised in association with Billavara Mahila Sangha, Kudroli and Akhila Bharatha Billavara union, here on Sunday.

‘We can’t see Paddhanas in the present situation and rural rituals also moved away from us. Even Aati celebration decreasing, however, there are some meaning full celebration can be seen in the city, which is laudable’, he said.

Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar said that seniors must teach the culture to the children and children should not move away from the culture and celebration. It’s a responsibility of the guardians to plant the moral values in the children, he said.

Alwas College Prof. Dr. Yogish Kairodi conducted a special seminar on Aati on the occasion and Akhila Bharatha Billava Union President Naveen Chandra D. Suvarna presided over the function.

Union general secretary Mohandas Mugila was present.
