Mangalore, August 4: Many people will be unsheltered from the Niddodi power plant project. Government playing a cunning role to plant the project by demolishing the agricultural land and western ghat, hence such people hatred projects must be dropped, said Dakshina Kannda JD(S) spokesman S. P Changappa.
Addressing the presspersons he said that state government planning for Niddodi power plant project and Nethravathi turning project, which will effect to western ghat. Government has imposing anti environmental projects, but this areas minister are became numb, he alleged.
Niddodi’s 4000 mega watt ultra mega power project will cause for pollution of environment, streams and ponds. Moreover, Nethravathi turning projects will cause for water drought in the district. Hence without checking the possibilities and impossibilities, dedicating Rs 100 crores and intense to washout the forest resource, animal species and water species is offending, he said.
He further said that within fifteen days they must review for and against of the project and must drop it, otherwise JD(s) will intense a movement in the district, he warned.
Government has increased Rs 2 for litre milk, but middle class people are suffering from this, hence KMF must increase the encouragement price, otherwise JD(S) party will stage protest against it, he said.
