Puttur, November 28: Two persons expired on spot and eight others sustained critical injuries after the Scorpio car in which they were travelling dashed to a tree after the driver of the car lost control over the vehicle. The accident took place near Periyashanti under Uppinangady at around 9 pm on Friday, November 27th.
The deceased are identified as Suresh and Varija (55), residents of Ettugallu in Kodungai near Vittal.
It is said that the accident took place while they, were returning from Sakleshpur after attending a house warming ceremony. All the 10 persons are residents of Kodangai. While the car was traversing through a curve in Ichlamppady near Periayshanti, the car collided to a tree after the driver lost control over the car. Suresh and Varija were seriously injured and expired on the spot.
Eight injured people including two children, have been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru. Among them, Pradeep’s condition is said to be serious, it is learnt.
A case stands registered in Uppinangady police station.
