Five-day long International Children’s Film Fest begins.

Mangaluru, November 23:  Tenth edition of International Children’s Film Festival organized to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Late Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was inaugurated at town hall here on Sunday November 22nd. The five-day long event is jointly organized by the Karnataka Film Academy, Bengaluru, and Children’s India, in association with Dakshina Kannada district administration and Mangaluru City Corporation.

District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai inaugurated the event.

Addressing the gathering, he expressed his happiness and said, the children’s festival that is held every year at Bengaluru has been organized in Mangaluru this time which is a matter of pride to our district.

Children are like god. Their mind is pure. They have to be brought up free from the feeling of caste differences and communalism. Along with the entertainment from the film festival, children are also provided the chances to watch various movies here, said Minister Ramanath Rai.

Renowned South Indian actress Khushboo participated in the event. She addressed the children in the beginning and asked them” Encha  Ullar” (How are you?) in Tulu Language and delighted the students. Children of today are the citizens of future. The country’s culture, patriotism, and unity has to be preserved in order to bring fame to our country. Through this, we have to owe to achieve unity in diversity, she said.

Children’s film show in DK and Udupi from November 23rd to November 26th:

The children’s movie that received international awards will be screened from November 23rd to November 26th in the theatres at Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. The first show of films will be from 9am to 1pm and the second show will be from 2pm to 4pm. The transport facility is provided for the children to watch the movie. In various theatres across the twin districts, over 200 films from 43 countries that received international reorganization will be showcased.

In the same period, best environment films will be screened. On November 25th the environment experts will converse with the children related to topics on the environment films.

Two days ‘Compilation Training ‘camp:

As part of the film show, for the selected students (including the government schools, the creative children in painting) training program about movie compilation is organized at the hall of Pilikula Regional Science Centre.
