Bantwal, November 16: Police have taken four suspects into custody in connection with the murder of Harish Poojary from Navoor in the taluk, and stabbing Samiulla.
When Harish Poojary and Samiulla were returning home on a bike after playing cricket on Thursday evening, persons who arrived in a white Omni car attacked them with knives and fled the spot. Harish, was stabbed to death while Samiulla is recovering in a hospital.
Four persons in custody are subjected to intense interrogation. The investigation is done in different angles. BJP and leaders have already brought pressure on the police department to see that innocents are not fixed in case, and only the real culprits are booked.
Navoor gram panchayat member, Sadanand Navoor, urged the police to arrest culprits in this murder and attack case by Monday evening. He warned that in case of failure, the villagers of Navoor will begin to stage road block at the national highway between Bantwal and Kadur from Tuesday.
