Kundapur, November 3: Locals caught a police constable red handed and beat him up on the afternoon of Monday, November 2nd after they noticed him frequenting the house of a woman since sometime in the pretext of passport work. The incident took place near Shiroor market. The constable was later handed over to the police.
It is alleged that the police constable was indulged in immoral activities.
It is said that after the locals noticed police constable Kiran of Byndoor police station frequenting the house of a woman belonging to another community near Shiroor market. They suspected that he was indulged in immoral activities and hence they kept a watch on his movements, it is learnt. The locals who grew suspicious and questioned him, he said he was going to her house for her passport related work. On Monday afternoon when Kiran visited the woman’s house, the public’s latched the house from outside and conveyed information to the police. But, by the time police arrived at the spot, Kiran somehow managed to come out of the house. The people who had gathered there caught hold of Kiran and beat him up.
The Byndoor police arrived at the spot and took Kiran into custody. It is heard that in some time ago, Kiran came to know the woman after he offered her to help to solve the litigation related to a land.
A case has been registered in Byndoor police station and investigations are underway.
