Mangaluru, October 27: The Statue of Late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru will be set up in Nehru Maidan in the city informed the district In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai.
He spoke to the media during his visit to Nehru Maidan for spot inspection on Tuesday, October 27th to set up the Statue of Sri Jawaharlal Nehru.
Ramanath Rai said, on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, his statue will be set up. The fence around the premises of Nehru Maidan is spoilt. Hence new fencing will be done at the earliest, he said.
He said, maintaining cleanliness is utmost necessary, garbage is being thrown here. He directed the concerned to take appropriate measures to maintain cleanliness at Nehru Maidan.
During the spot inspection, the minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim, Mayor Jacintha Vijay Alfred, Deputy Mayor Purushottam Chitrapura, MUDA Chairman Ibrahim Kodijal, and MCC Commissioner Gopalkrishna.
