Udupi: After being under police custody, Anand one of he accused was produced to the Court today ( on July 5) & he was remanded to judicial custody at Shimoga
The victim of Manipal gang rape, an MBBS Student of Manipsl University was discharged from KMC hospital on July 4.
It was known that she was discharged without anyone’s knowledge and also unknown about where she was shifted further.
On 20 June night she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted by three men. The nex day early hours she was admitted to KMC. Sshe was in trauma & refused to meet or talk toany one. Police after intense search was successful in napping the culprits within a week. She is expected to identify the accused so as to assist the police to file a charge sheet
The case is further proceeding at the District Court Udupi.
On the other hand the Yogish, the prime accused still critical and continuing on treatment.
On July 3rd the Principal civil judge Nagajyothi remanded the second accused Hariprasad to judicial custody at Shimoga Jail
