Bantwal, October 15: Popular cricketer, Yuvraj Singh, visited the renowned Shree Vanadurga temple situated near B C Road here, on Tuesday October 13th.
He was accompanied by actress Hazel Keech, and several of his family members and friends.
Yuvraj reached the temple at about 10 am and remained there for three hours. Yuvraj offered special pooja to the serpent god at the temple.
He showed gathered information on the history and background of the temple and discussed on it with Gurudath Shenoy, a member of the managing committee of the temple. Yuvraj also praised the way the temple is being managed and developed.
Devotees from near and far visit the temple to perform poojas here to appease the serpent god and get rid of Nagadoshas.
A small pool is located just before the place where the stone of Shri Vanadurga is situated and a termitarium is also located adjacent to the pond. The holy water from the pond which the devotees get sprinkled over them has many healing properties.
