Mangaluru/Panambur, October 5: A car driver expired on spot after the car collided to a lorry that was parked by the road side Near MCF at Panambur before sunrise on Sunday, October 4th.
The deceased is identified as Girish resident of Adyapadi in Bajpe. A woman who was in the car was critically injured. She has been rushed to the hospital.
It is said that the accident took place after Girish lost control over his Bolero car while he was driving towards Mangaluru at around 4.30am on Sunday morning.
A case has been registered at Suratkal police station and police have taken up the investigations.

A man expired on spot and a woman was injured after a Bolero jeep collided to a lorry that was parked in front of MCF in Panambur at around 5.10 am on Sunday, October 4th.
The deceased youth is identified as Girish (39) resident of Adyapadi in Bajpe.
Shakuntala, resident of Matebailu was badly injured.
It is gathered that while Girish was returning home in his Bolero vehicle on Sunday early morning on the Udupi- Mangaluru National Highway-66, he driver lost control of the vehicle near MCF and collided to a lorry parked on the service road.
The front portion of the jeep is completely damaged after the accident.
A case has been registered at Mangaluru North Police station.
Deceased Girish was the first son among the three children of Hoovappa Leela couple, resident of Padavusite in Adyapady.
Girish was the owner of Aadinatheshwara cranes and was handling contract at MRPL, Panambur and other places.
Shakunthala Aachary was the wife of Suresh Aachary resident of Matebail. The couple have two sons. Shakunthala Aachary was employed in an IT company at Ganjimutt. She had told her husband and his family that on Saturday, she would go to her mother’s house after work.
Water gets collected in both sides of the highway in front of the MCF which gets splashed to the glass of the vehicles. Due to this sudden splash of water, many accidents take place there as the vehicles lose control. In this spot, including police vehicle, over six cars and two wheelers have met with accident. But the concerned department has failed to rectify the problem, which has attracted the rage of public’s.
