Udupi , September 24: A illegal slaughterhouse in Manipura near Kaup was raided by the Kaup police on Thursday afternoon September 24th and beef and weapons used for slaughtering has been seized.
After receiving credible information, the police raided the house belonging to former gram panchayath member Hassan Sahib where illegal slaughter was taking place. During the raid police seized beef and the weapons used for slaughtering at the spot.
When the police reached the spot, a tense situation prevailed as locals gathered there and heated arguments took place between the locals and the police. Later police finally raided the house.
Additional police force has been brought to the village to avoid untoward incidents from taking place.
In this raid operation, ASP Suman, circle inspector Sunil and other police personnel participated.
