Mangalore, July 01:  Addressing the gathering, M Vasudev, former Mangalore International airport director said in his speech that for the overall progress of the democratic country like India Numerical (Mathematics) has immensely contributed.

Celebrating the 120th birth anniversary of great mathematician Mahalanobis at Dakshina Kannada panchayat mini hall, he said in his speech as material resources person that what Dr.sir M Vishvesharayya, civil engineering profession’s honor and what prof.Prashanthchand Mahalnobis’s honor is different from one another, he added. In the field of mathematics, share of contribution is more in five year plan (Panchavaarshika yojane)

For anything/progress to arrive for conclusion, the basic things required is numericals.With the help of numbers, we can make a budget, arrive to the conclusion and make any plan. He share his experience in the meeting.

Mahalanobis has contributed in many ways for the progress of the country through his numerology, study in numbers like it may be through industrialization. Agriculture, employment opportunities. Project, Sanghatanas and implementation department for numbers is essential.

Country’s economy point of view, numbers plays an important role. Though students prefer to have mathematics and physics, study of numbers too is essential and we must thanks Mahalanobis for providing these facilities. Mahalanobis is responsible and has encouraged to start Indian statistical service.

Chief guest P Anand, main leader of survey has given an introduction about his experience in number game. Mohammed Nazir,Project manager,DK zilla panchayat has presided over the function, T J Thakatrao was the chief guest.Smt sandhya,Shree Nagendra,project and evaluation official were present in the function.

On the occasion essay competition was conductd and Ujire SDM student bagged the first prize and Besant and Ujire students have shared the second prize and third prize was won by St. Aloysius student.Shri Pradeep D’Souza, district numbers collecting officer welcomed the gathering and spoke  on the occasion.Shri Banapathi Bhat asst.officer of numbers has proposed vote of thanks.
