Mangalore, June 29: Addressing the gathering in the farewell function held at Vaartha Bharathi auditorium On June 29, Saturday Shri P Mohan, retiring agricultural director has said that duty has given me love, peace, satisfaction and happiness.
During the tenure of my 34 years of service I had an opportunity to serve in ten districts in various capacities in Agricultural departments. Also I had the satisfaction of bringing Dakshina Kannada to the 5th place from 28th place. In the beginning of the function, he has expressed his feelings.
Serving 10 months and sixteen days in the district at the fag end of my career brought me happiness and officials, staff have extended their complete support.
In the beginning after accepting my charge, the Krishi Utsav, which was organized by me was a grand success and memorable moment of my life, he said. I had the desire of discharging my duties until last, that opportunity I got it, he added.
Further he recalled his early memories of the service, when he joined the department at Bagalkote.
Smt.Chandrakala Mohan, Honnappa Gowda, asst.director, Shiva Shankar Gaonkar, Ramaswamy were present in the function. Officials have briefed their respective experiences.
