Mangaluru, August 20: Attempt to murder two youths who were travelling on a bike took place at K S Rao Road in the heart of the city on Wednesday August 19th. A complaint pertaining to this has been registered at the Bunder police station here.
The duo youths on bike were injured in this incident. They have been identified as Nikhil Shetty and Shanmuga, both from Attavar here.
In the complaint filed, accused are namely Choni Someshwar, Shylu Bajilkeri and Raghul Ullal.
It is gathered that Nikhil a second PU student had visited the district court complex at Kodialbail along with his friend, Shanmuga, who was the riding pillion. There, he reportedly made inquiries with the concerned about a court case relating to a person named Koushik that was posted for the day. As he was told that the hearing has been adjourned to some other date, he was returning to Attavar.
Meanwhile, a car in which three persons were travelling collided their car to the bike. As a result Nikhil and Shanmuga were thrown on to the road, and were injured.
It is gathered that the occupants in the car then got down and began to wield a sword held by them. As they swung the sword at high speed, it slipped away from their grip. Rahul picked up the sword and swung it again, and the sword again slipped and fell to the road. But by then, Shanmuga and Nikhil said that they escaped from the spot and got admitted to a hospital.
As a large crowd began to gather there, the accused fled from the spot, it is learnt.
It is said, a long- standing enemity exists between Koushik, who is facing a court case and the accused. It is believed that the accused might have got angry after they saw Nikhil and Shanmuga in the company of Koushik at the court complex.
Bunder police have taken up the investigations.
