Udupi, August 3: A bike rider died on the spot and the pillion rider was injured when a head on collision occurred between a truck and bike on the National Highway-66 near Santhekatte here on Sunday August 2nd.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok (32), a resident of KG Road, Salmar.
The accident took place when a truck tried to overtake another vehicle and met a head on collision with the bike. Ashok died on the spot.
The truck was plying from Kundapur to Udupi
Ashok was riding the bike. Ramesh, who was sitting pillion, was injured in the accident.
Ramesh was seriously injured and was immediately taken to hospital.
A case has been registered by traffic police.
