Mangaluru, July 22: Similar to the IPL model, for the first time in Mangaluru, Mangaluru Premier League-2015(MPL) T-20 cricket match will be held at NMPT stadium in Panambur from December 15th to 27th.
Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangaluru Zone convener Manohar Ameen, informed this at a press meet held in a hotel here.
Manohar Ameen said, with the guidance of Karnataka State Cricket Association, the Karnataka Regional Cricket Academy and the local Cricket Association of the city will jointly organize this match.
President of Karnataka Regional Cricket Academy Mohammed Sirajuddin said, ten teams and 200 players will participate in this match. The players of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts will participate in the tender process, he informed.
The first prize is MPL trophy along with cash prize of Rs 4 lakhs, and the second prize would be trophy along with cash prize of Rs 2 lakhs, he informed. Daily three matches will take place, and one among them will be a fed-light match, he informed.
In the press meet, Asif Mohammed-CEO of Amaco Company, Saudi Arabia as well as the title sponsor of MPL, entrepreneur and MPL suggestion committee member Ismail Ullal, President of Karnataka State Cricket Association Mangaluru Zone- Rathan Kumar, MPL suggestion committee member and secretary of Hidaya Foundation Haneef G and others were present.
