Police raid illegal butchery near Uppinangady, three men arrested, items and two cows confiscated.

Uppinangady, July 13: Police have raided on a illegal slaughter house in Valalu of Bajatturu village near Uppinangady on Sunday, July 13th; arrested three persons  and confiscated two cattle along with the items used in the butchery.

The arrested are identified as Zainuddin, Abdurahaman and Mohammed Asif. Based on a particular information the cops raided a plantation belonging to Iddinabba and raided a illegal slaughter house which was operated in the corner of the plantation. Cops have seized weighing machine, wood used to chop the beef and bones of the animals from the spot.

Pro- Hindu activists who learnt that cattle were being transported on Sunday from the way of Golithattu, followed the pick-up vehicle which had later entered into the plantation of Iddinabba. Meanwhile, the pick-up driver had managed to escape with the vehicle after unloading the cattle there.

Later the pro-Hindu activists gathered on the National Highway in front of Iddinabba’s house and alleged that illegal slaughter house is functioning in the plantation who later conveyed the matter to the cops.

The police who arrived to the spot later, inspected the plantation and found two sheds in a corner there. Measuring machine, wood used to chop meat, plastic bags, rope used to tie the cattle, and bones of animals were found in the spot.

Police registered a case and arrested three persons, confiscated all the items used in the slaughter house along with two cattle.

A tense situation prevailed there as pro-Hindu activists and also the people of Muslim community gathered on the National Highway as the news spread.

Police dispersed the mob and took control of the situation. Reserve police were summoned to the spot.
