Mangaluru, July 8: Parish priest of Mukka Church, Fr Thomas D’Souza (60), expired due to cardiac arrest on the morning of Wednesday July 8th at Father Muller Hospital here.
Fr Thomas D’Souza was born on January 18th, 1955 to Jacob D’Souza and Christine Pinto and is a native of Belthangady parish.
He was ordained priest on May 4th, 1982. He served as assistant parish priest at Valencia (1982-’83), Karkala town (1983-’84) and Cordel in Kulshekar (1984-’85) here. Later he served as parish priest of Sampaje from 1985 to 1992. Post this, he worked as the manager of Kodialbail Press till 1999. He then served as parish priest of Byndoor (1999-2006), Permannur (2006-2013) and Mukka until his last days.
The funeral mass will be held at Holy Spirit Church, Mukka at 4 pm on Thursday July 9th. The cremation will be will be done cemetery in Mukka church.
