Mangaluru, June 12: It has been learnt from the sources that, MCC commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati has been transferred.
Official confirmation is not yet arrived, but sources said that Korlapati has been transferred as CEO of Vijayapura zilla panchyat.
It is hardly six months after she took charge of the office.
On January 1st-2015, Hephsiba Rani had taken charge as the new MCC Commissioner in place of Ajit Kumar Hegde Shanadi.
Sometime after Hephsiba Rani joined the city corporation, a group of city corporators accompanied by the mayor had met the chief minister during his visit to the city, and sought for her transfer. But, the chief minister had denied their plea and advised them to proceed with mutual cooperation.
Sources said, her transfer had been expected in the first week of June.
It may be recalled that several corporators of Mangaluru City Corporation had been alleging that Hephsiba Rani was not working properly and giving negligible respect to them. Hephsiba Rani said, she had been trying to implement a new efficient system to carry out development works, but was unable to get the desired support in her efforts.
Speaking to the media, Mayor Jacintha Alfred said, she has not yet received the official information on this, but she too has heard that the MCC commissioner has been transferred. By evening we will come to know, she said.
It is learnt from sources said that Hephsiba Rani Korlapati was on leave on Friday June 12th.
