Child line associations renders help to the family in distress

Mangaluru, May 20: The Child line and Department of Women and Child Development officials rescued a family which was in distress at Kalpane, Kakkebettu in Shakthinagar in Mangaluru.

The couple in the house along with two small children spent three days without proper food.

Shreenivas (38) who is the father is suffering from paralysis and is undergoing treatment, his wife Mallika (32) is also sick from sometime. The family in distress sought the help of their relatives, but none came forward to help the family.

The couple used to take care of their aged parents. The couple have two small boy babies. Since the past three days, as there was no food to eat, the children were fed with vitamin powder supplied by the Anganwadis.

The locals who saw the pitiable state of the family informed the Child line-1098 and Department of Women and Child Development officer Gulabi, along with supervisor Sudha, anganwadi teachers Maalthi,and Rufina, and Sampath Katti of Child line-1098 visited the family.

They noticed that Shreenivas had fallen down from the bed onto the floor, and was unable to lie down on the bed by himself. His aged helpless mother was found shedding tears urging for help.

Immediately the officials phoned the ambulance and shifted the couple to Wenlock hospital. As instructed by the children’s welfare association, rehabilitation is provided to two children.

Local social service members Sudhakar Jogi, Babitha, Nagraj Sahkthinagar of Nagarikara Hitha Rakshana Vedike, Mahesh, Henry Rodrigus, Shyamala of Spandana Shree Sahkthi Sangha, Sashikala helped in rescuing the children of this family.
