Blessed Mary Baouardy to be canonized as saint in Vatican city – Celebration at Sacred Heart Monastery on May 17th.

Mangaluru, May 13: As part of the canonization of Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified (Mariam Baouardy) by Pope Francis in Vatican on May 17^th; celebrations will be held at Sacred Heart Monastery, Cloistered Carmel, Kankanady here on Sunday May 17^th.

Fr James D’Souza, parish priest of Valencia Church inaugurated the preparatory programs organized prior to the celebration of canonization of the Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified.

Addressing a press meet on Tuesday May 12^th, Fr Ravi Santhosh Kamath briefed about the history of Blessed Mary of Jesus Crucified.

Eucharistic mass will be held on Sunday May 17^th at 4:30 pm. Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will preside. A programme on the life of Mariam Baouardy will be enacted by the White Doves at the entrance of Father Muller Hospital, said Sr Olivia.

Bishop of Mangaluru Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will preside over the valedictory programme. Chief guests Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Fr Pius James D’Souza, Fr Joe Tauro, Fr Richard Coelho, Sr Linette, Fr Scervin, Sr Jacintha will be present. MLA J R Lobo, MLC, Ivan D’Souza, Roy Castelino and Elias Fernandes will be present as the guests of honour, she said.

On this occasion Sr Shalini, Elias Fernandes, Stanley Bantwal and others were present. Sheldon Crasta compeered the program.
