MLA Shakuntala Shetty’s neice expired in an tragic accident at Chennai

Puttur, May 13: A unexpected tragedy has struck the family of local MLA Shakuntala Shetty, in which her younger brother’s daughter Nireeksha Adyantaya (22) expired after falling into an metal cutter machine at Chennai on Tuesday May 12th morning.

Nireeksha Adyantaya was the daughter of Gopalakrishna Adyantaya and Savita couple, who own an industry in Chennai. Gopalakrishna is a native of Kuttarpadavu near Konaje Mangaluru, while Savita is the daughter of Narayana Rai and Kusuma couple from Maruvantila in Perabe village.

Nireeksha was an engineer who was employed in Chennai. Recently, she had resigned her job to pursue MBA degree education.

It is gathered that last week, this family had visited the town.

Gopalakrishna Adyantaya operates metal sheets cutting industry in the industrial area in Chennai. Nireeksha used to visit this unit frequently. While working near this machine, her shawl got stuck to the machine and she was dragged into the machine.

Postmortem was conducted in Chennai on Tuesday. The mortal remains are being brought to Nireeksha’s mother’s parental home in Maruvantila, Perabe, on Wednesday May 13th.

Family sources said, the last rites and funeral will be conducted at the house of the deceased’s maternal uncle in Maruvantila, Sudhanu Rai, on Wednesday.
