Mangaluru, May 8: Alleging doctors of negligence, protest was staged by the relatives of a woman who died all of a sudden at Wenlock hospital here on Friday May 8th.
The deceased Poovakka (32), resident of Ajjavara village, Sullia, breathed her last on Friday night, May 7th.
It is learnt that Poovakka had delivered a baby boy at Lady Goschen Hospital on April 21st, and the baby had been kept in incubator. Later she was discharged and her health was said to be fine.
As she developed complications, on May 5th she was admitted to Wenlock hospital and she expired on May 7th. The exact cause of her death is not yet ascertained.
Poovakka’s husband Ganesh later lodged a complaint in Bunder police station alleging the negligence of doctor.
After post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family of deceased.
On May 8th, Poovakka’s family members and relatives gathered at Lady Goschen hospital and also at Wenlock and protested demaning the arrest of the doctor.
A case has been registered by Bunder police.
