Mangalore, June 14: In a glittering ceremony held at Town Hall on June 14, Thursday Akhila Bharatha Beary Parishad has honored and felicitated MLA JR Lobo from Mangalore south constituency.Parishad had decided to honour all the ministers and MLAs of the district but only Lobo could make it to the function.
Function was inaugurated in an entirely different manner by cutting the traditional piece of wheat halwa by Kanachur Monu, Chairman of the Kanachur Academy.
After accepting the honour, Lobo said in his speech that he was touched by the organizers love, affection shown towards him by way of honoring him and this honor definitely will go long way and added an another responsibility of serving the society in a better way.
He further said that the need of the hour for the society is to respect and love all religions, languages and culture to promote peace and amity amongst the people from other communities.
Abdul Aziz Baikampady, President of the Parishad presided over the function. Former minister BA Moideen spoke on the occasion.
Five community corporators of MCC as well as councilors of Ullal TMC and other local bodies were also honored on this occasion.
Abdul Aziz Haq,Advisor of the Parishad, Abdul Hameed Kinya,general secretary,V Mohammed Bajpe,treasurer,Ibrahim Kodijal,vice president of DK Muslim central committee,BM Farooq,President of Beary welfare association and among others were present.
The felicitation function was followed by Beary cultural programme.
