Bhatkal, April 23: A Swift car collided to a tempo on national highway 66 at Murdeshwar killing a man and injuring over ten people. This incident took place on the evening of Wednesday, April 22nd.
As per reports, the City Ride tempo van was going to a marriage function from Shirali to Bailur and the Swift car was moving towards Murdeshwar.
Nagesh Venkatesh Naik (26) from Chitrapur Shirali expired on the spot.
Deceased Nagesh was taking guests to his cousin’s wedding place which was scheduled on April 23rd.
As per sources, swift car which was at high speed was moving to Mysuru from Ankola. When the car overtook, it came in front of the tempo. The tempo driver applied sudden brake and as an impact, the tempo overturned.
Two people in the car who were seriously injured were taken to R N S hospital in Murdeshwar for initial treatment. Later they were shifted to Kundapur and Manipal hospitals.
Among 25 persons who were travelling by the tempo, 7 persons have been admitted at R.N.S hospital in Murudeshwar.
A case has been registered at Murdeshwar police station.
