Memorandum urging Chief Minister to compensate families of Perne LPG gas tanker tragedy victims

Bangalore/Mangalore, June 12: A delegation of elected representatives and congress leaders from the district led by minister for forest, ecology and environment and district in-charge Ramanatha Rai has submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Siddarammaiah on June 11, Tuesday and sought his intervention in seeking adequate compensation to Perne LPG gas tanker tragedy victims.

Chief Minister after accepting memorandum promised that he will look into the matter and ensure measures to rehabilitate and to compensate the families of the victims adequately.

Ramanatha Rai, in his capacity as minister for forest, ecology and environment requested the chief minister to compensate adequately the families from chief minister’s relief fund and also to provide government facilities.

Vinaya Kumar Sorake, urban development minister, Shakuntala Shetty, MLA Puttur, congress leaders like Umanath Shetty, Sunder Shetty, BH Khader,PUS Rodriguez, GP member Tulajaksha shetty and ZP member Prakash Shetty were present.
