Responding to this query, Minister R V Deshpande informed that through the State Tourism Department, 23 beaches will be face lifted which are spread across the coastal districts.

The beaches to be improved are Ullal, Someshwar, Sultan Battery, Suratkal, and Talapady in Mangaluru taluk. Other places to be developed in the twin districts of coastal area include a tourist lodge at Kateel near the Durgaparameshwari temple and also at Moodbidri near Jain math.

The tourism department has sanctioned grants for thirteen of the road junctions which link the tourist spots. Tenders will be called by the PWD and port and inland water transport department as the grant was released on this month for remaining three works, he informed.
