Mangaluru, March 18: In relation to the recovery of explosives at Mukkachery, Ullal, in 2007; two suspected terrorists have been brought to the city by Mumbai cops and were produced before the third sessions court here on Wednesday March 18th.
Along with Syed Mohammed Naushad and Ahmed Bava Abubakker, who are suspected of having terror links, other accused in the case, namely Mohammed Ali, Mohammed Rafiq, Fakir Ahmed, Javed Ali, and Shabbir Bhatkal were also produced before the court. They were arrested in 2007 after the cops raided a house at Mukkachery in Ullal and found explosives.
In total seven men including two from Ullal and four from Mangaluru had been arrested in connection to this case. Totally, 13 members were accused in the case. Among them, Shabbir Bhatkal is detained in Mangaluru district jail while the other four – Javed, Mohammed Ali, Rafiq and Fakir have come out on bail. Another accused is said to be in a cell in Gujarat while five others are still elusive.
These accused face charges under anti-terror laws and illegal possession of weapons.
It is learnt that the next hearing in the case will be on June 3rd, 2015.
