Beltangady, Mar 11: A Beltangady based youth Safwan (25), who went missing under mysterious circumstances from Mumbai airport last month has been found in Mumbai.

Safwan native of Karpady, Puttila here, was returning from Riyadh on February 21st. He had arrived at Mumbai airport on February 22nd morning, but did not reach Mangaluru as scheduled.

Safwan’s father Abubakker had been killed by unidentified gunmen in Riyadh in October 2014, and as the mortal remains could not be brought back home, he was buried there itself. After the incident sent Safwan’s, mother urged him to come back home from Riyadh, and hence he had left Riyadh on February 21st. But he did not board the connecting flight from Mumbai to Mangaluru, and went missing from the airport leaving his luggage behind. The CCTV camera footages showed the images of Safwan walking towards the outer auto rickshaw stand.

A missing case was registered in Mumbai’s Sahar police station.

It is learnt that Safwan had loitered around several railway stations across Maharashtra before returning to Mumbai. As his photograph went viral on social networking sites and news had appeared in media, a few natives of Maddadka here who stay in Mumbai after identifying him at Mumbai railway station contacted Safwan’s family and also informed the cops.

After receiving the call, Safwan’s family members went to Mumbai immediately, and have confirmed his identity, said the sources.
