Mangaluru, Mar 10: Alleging of assault on a student by a government bus conductor, the Student’s of Rosario College here gathered at Bunder police station on Tuesday March 10th and staged a protest.
Students alleged that the conductor of Uppinangady-State Bank KSRTC bus had assaulted on first year BCom student, identified as Samad from Uppinangady.
The students said that when two girls were about to board the bus, the bus conductor signalled the driver to move the bus even before the girls could board into the bus. The conductor in rage had allegedly assaulted Samad who was in the bus for objecting to this act. The students who protested against this alleged assault, assembled at Bunder police station urging stern action against the conductor. Students also alleged that the said conductor often abuses students who possess bus passes and even stops the bus at irregular places.
The students withdrew their protest after the Bunder police assured of initiating stern action against the conductor. The students were sent back to college later.
Samad got admitted to hospital. A complaint was registered later at Bunder police station.
The accused conductor, Murugesh from Bagalkot, alleged that he was attacked with blades by the students. He himself got admitted to Wenlock hospital.
A case is filed at Bunder police station.
