Aid of Rs 10 crore sought from Centre to solve Sea Erosion problems; says Sorake

Mangalore, June 2: Addressing the district level KDP meeting on June,1 Saturday,Vinaya Kumar Sorake,urban development minister has said that  there is a proposal to consider Udipi as a heritage town.

KDP meeting also discussed about the water problems and problem of sea erosion and a sum of Rs 30 lakh has been allocated to each MLA to find a permanent solution to the water problems in the respective constituency.

He also said that a Rs 10 crore proposal has also been sent to the union government to prevent sea erosion, he added

Besides he also mentioned about the implementation of drainage project in Manipal and proposal in this regard is ready, he said.

As far as Sakala Scheme implementation is concerned, Sorake said Udipi district stood first and pending applications would be sorted out soon, he said

Further speaking on the occasion Sorake said that on June 11,home minister KJ George would be visiting the district in order to discuss a strategy to combat the Naxal menace.
