Woman found burnt to death in the kitchen in Mangaluru arouse suspecions.

Mangaluru, March 5: A 36-year-old spinster was found charred to death at her house in Maryhill here on Wednesday evening, March 4th.

The deceased has been identified as Vani (36), daughter of Devadas and Nagaveni. Vani lived with her parents.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, when Devadas and Nagaveni had been out to buy medicines and Vani was alone at home.

It is said that the people who were at an adjacent construction site sensed burning smell emanating from the house. They immediately informed the fire service.

Meanwhile, Vani’s parents also returned and the door was forced open. Vani’s body was found in the kitchen which was completely charred in fire.

Whether the fire was accidental or a case of suicide is yet to be learnt.

Sources said, Vani was unmarried and unemployed.

The spot has been inspected by Mangaluru rural cops and investigations are under way.

Kanakanady cops inspected the spot.
